I used to love this video player… For some reason, after updating my OS system to El Capitan it never worked properly ever again. I use it mostly for warching movies with subtitles on it. But once I hit the full screen mode, the screen turns white and it crashes. I’ve tried reaching out to the developer of the app, and I’ve also visited their website and I’ve had no luck whatsoever. Its bummer, cause it was my Go to app for playing any sort of videos.

Dead… Just a black screen with audio underneath. Tried several files. Nothing. Guesing I won’t get my money back either. :/

This product has been able to open and play every movie file I have tried with it. The problem is, when I put it into full screen mode, the picture goes white and doesn’t come back. It doesn’t matter what movie or video it is. It doesn’t work. I want my money back.

When changed to full screen, every image goes to white and you have to restart the program to bring back the images of the videos, and when you adjust to full screen again the whole story happens again.

I’m not to happy about this application as I’m getting an error: "Oops, it seams that mplayer has quit without playing the media.” I purchased this application as my QuickTime player couldn’t open these vidoes as well

When going to full screen, the screen just goes white and the only way to recover from this is to restart the app and open the movie……and then DO NOT GO TO FULL SCREEN MODE. That makes it pretty much useless :-( Details: playing *.mkv files on macOS Sierra on 2012 Mac Mini.

dont know why… when I do full screen its turns white and continue playing but without of picture ((( really love this player ! but just upgrade for this version and …...

Horrible. Can not read a playlist…Really it’s 2017, it’s like a car that you have to spin a crank on the front. When you make the player full screen also it looses the picture and can not get it back. Maybe a beta test or just trying the app before putting it out for people to download would have prevented this. Yes it can play a lot of formats but if you read the descriptions of most players they all can. I do have a new Imac also so it’s not the fault of the system it’s the programmer.

The control bar for play, pause and other functions is horrendously buggy. When you resize the player, buttons clump together and when you expand in an attempt to regain any functionality they remain overlapped and unusable. The control bar also shoots to the top of the player when the wondow is resized, requiring you to drag it back down to its proper position. It plays media files just fine, has a nice appearance, looks clear and straightforward, but any adjustments render it useless unless you quit the application and restart it. I would be more forgiving if this didn’t cost $1.99, but then again, this wouldnt be worth my time even if it was free. If the control bar was stationary and resized properly, This media player would be excellent. A sidebar showing track titles when playing an album would also be nice!

the issue with full screen on Yosemite needs to be fixed already. it is been too long.

So, I downloaded this app in February. I haven’t been able to open it. Ever. I open it and it just crashes, the app says it is not responding, and I have to force quit. That’s frustrating enough, but when I click on the little button on the app page that says “MPlayerX Support” it takes me to a web site where I find a video of a cartoon squirrel and a link to donate money. Really?!?! So, your app doesn’t work or maybe has a glitch and instead of providing a navigable site for someone to actually get help, you just direct them to give you money? Are you friggin kidding?!? I hope I can figure out how to uninstall this app. I really had high hopes...

Good app. Plays nearly every video format. Inteface could be done better though

I have a strong feeling that all the recent bad reviews are due to the fact that the users are not reading the section “What’s New in Version..” found above. The newest stable version is found on the developer website. I also encountered the same issues that many are complaining about until I following the web address listed. Hope the version on the website works just as well for you as it has for me.

Ive been using this app on MBAir and MacMini for more than an year. I had (almost) no problems during that time but This app does not even launch on MB Pro Retina, 2015, with 10.10.3. Goddamn I un-and-reinstalled few times and still not working. Please fix it because I really need to watch some MKV files!! Plus, on my MB Air, 2012 mid, 10.10.3 show WHITE screen when I make player “Full Screen” while playing mkv files. please fix it

I love mplayer x, but the new update makes it crash. Please fix! Thank you!

the latest version with the interface change 1.1.0 is fantastic, you cant download it from this store you have to go to their website

Idk whats wrong with this video player, but everytime I enter fullscreen the video turns white. Making this app useless.

It just crash everytime I open it. No matter reinstall or not,,,, have no ways to use it

I think it’s opened everything I’ve tried to use it for, so that’s good; unfortunately, too many times when I go full screen, the picture goes white, whether on my MBP’s screen or an external screen. I’d hope to make it a default player, but that’s something I can’t tolerate. Otherwise, seems pretty solid, and the price is certainly nice.

I couldn’t even run this thing! It freezes when I run it. I have a recent MacBookPro. Opted for VLC at the end. Unfortunately, it’s not on the app store.
