I got the problem that whenever I put in fullscreen, the video turns white, i still have the audio but the video stays white even if i go back to regular screen. What is the probleem ? Although the app is really good and i loveit, it bums me that i have this problem.

So, I dowloaded it before Yosemite. It worked beautifully. Now, with the update, it started presenting an odd beheavior. So, I went to the developers site and compared the version I had with the current version displayed there. Here it’s outdated. The current version allows full screen in a external monitor. I hope it sounds helpful. It’s a greap app, tho! Specially for the price :P

Never works properly, every time this application freeze. I need to force quit and restart 10 times before play any movie.

Installed it and it won’t even open. I have to force quit it each time. Looks like others are having the same problem.

I have the most powerful MacBook Pro you can buy today and it still doesn’t work for me, it simply won’t open, I really enjoy this app but I must give it a 1 star until this problem is resolved, I will give it a 5 star after it has been fixed. 2013 Fall MacBook Pro with Retina Display 15.4" 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 16 GB Ram 1TB Memory NVIDIA GeForce GTX750 2GB VRam P.S. i cant believe theres no way to rewind or fast forward?! i keep thinking there must be and im just not seeing it. and yes, i can drag the button that marks the progress of the video, back or forward, but it is awkward and imprecise. how much more useful it would be to have the << and >> buttons function as rewind/fast forward rather than to skip to next or previous video! or have buttons for both functions. on the plus side, the sound is great, compared to some other players.

Downloaded it. Tried it. Deleted it. But, it won’t stay gone. Every time I delete it, it re-installs itself the next day. If I turn off auto-updates, it continues to show up as an update. If I install the latest version from the website, it downgrades itself to the last version available from the App Store. Make sure you want this before you download it, because this app is like herpes.

It’s the only player that will opens huge files, like 10GB+, without too many issues. This is the main reason I use it. However, it can’t seek over the network to save its life. And no, the problem is not the files. Other players can seek the same files just fine while MplayerX just restarts the movie at the beggining. Try it. Press up arrow twice in a row in any movie. I dare you. The most annoying thing is the lack of a playlist. It supports “chapters” like part 1, part 2, etc… provided they are all in the same directory, but that’s the very definition of inconvenience. No playlist means I’m not using this player unless I absolutely have to. It also doesn’t support multiple subtitle tracks in an external file; it’ll only chose the first one.

It doesn’t use the full screen option properly. And on a second display, it always shows the menu bar, even when full screen.

MPlayerX has been my favorite movie player for years now. However, it does not work on my retina Macbook Pro. It does nevertheless work on my non-retina Macbook Pro and iMac. I hope they work on the issue soon!

it doesn’t play anymore movies. it doesn’t even want to shut down properly.

This is my preferred video player on the Mac (simpler and easier to use than VLC), however after using it here for a while I discovered that the programmer has withdrawn support for the app store and solely updates the program through the sparkle update checker program non-app store programs use. He felt the App Store imposed unnecessary restrictions on the functionality of the app that are not issues if you install the program manually. So just a heads up, and enjoy the program.

it could not open and play any movies in my mac and displayed “application not responding”, i have to force quit of the mplayer.

Crashes everytime I open it since latest update. There must be a bug or something, needs immediate fix up.

Great app! I love how it opens the next episode after the one before it is done! Only thing it needs is auto updates through the app store and Yosemite compatibility

Absolutely fabulous media player for free. Except it currently needs a Yosemite update. If you maximize the screen, it turns all white. Before Yosemite I would have given it FIFTY stars!

Every time I try to switch something to full screen, the entire video just turns white. This only starting happening once I updated to OS X Yosemite. You can make the video window size larger, but once you switch to full screen, it’s stuck as all white no matter what you do. This happened with several different video files, all different file types. Even if you close the window and re-open it, it’ll be stuck as a full white screen. The only way around is the completely quit the app and restart the video. But full screen still won’t work if you do that. This player used to be good. They lost me.
